This page explains what personal data Hauskart collects when you shop with us, message us or visit this website, why we collect it, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to show, correct or delete it. It is our notice under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we are
Hauskart is a kitchen and home-goods store at Shop No. 17, D-Wing, Vikas High Street, DB Chowk, Adharwadi, Khadakpada, Kalyan, Maharashtra 421301, trading as Hauskart Kitchen (GSTIN 27AAWPP8859J2ZF). We decide why and how your personal data is used, so under the DPDP Act we are its data fiduciary.
Contact us about anything on this page by email at [email protected], by phone or WhatsApp on +91 72087 08111, or at the store counter.
What we collect, and why
When you buy from us
- Your name and phone number on the bill, so we can issue your GST invoice and find your purchase later for an exchange, warranty claim or service. If you prefer, we bill you as a walk-in customer without them.
- Your GSTIN and business name and address, only if you ask for a GST invoice in your business name.
- Your delivery address, only if we deliver your order, and the details of any order you book for later delivery, including an advance you pay.
- What you bought, the price, any discount and how you paid.
When you pay
UPI and card payments go through the bank and the card machine's provider. We see the amount, the payment method and a transaction reference. We never see or store your full card number, card PIN or UPI PIN.
When you message or call us
When you contact us on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or by phone, we receive your number or profile name and what you send us. We use it to answer your question, send prices and quotes, take your order and arrange delivery. We may label a chat, for example as an enquiry or a delivered order, to keep track of it.
Offers and updates on WhatsApp
We send offers and store news on WhatsApp only to people who have said yes to receiving them. You can say no and still shop with us, and you can stop them at any time by telling us on WhatsApp, by email or at the counter.
Our pre-opening registration form
Before the store opened, a Google Form collected the name, phone number, optional email address and product interests of people who wanted the opening offer, with a separate choice about WhatsApp updates. We use those details only to send that offer and, where you said yes, store updates.
When you visit this website
This website has no accounts, no forms, and no analytics or advertising trackers, and it sets no cookies of its own. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and browser details to deliver and protect the site. The fonts load from Google Fonts, and the map on the home page is embedded from Google Maps, so Google receives your IP address when they load and the map may set Google's own cookies.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the store, and only what each one needs:
- Zoho, our billing and stock system, which holds bills, orders and customer details on its India data centre.
- Banks, UPI apps and Paytm, which runs our card machine, to process your payment.
- Meta, for WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook messages.
- Google, for our email, the registration form and our document storage.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website.
- Anthropic, whose AI assistant helps us prepare reports and read supplier documents. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- The person delivering your order, who receives your name, phone number and address.
- Our chartered accountant and the tax authorities, because GST returns are built from our invoices.
We also disclose personal data when the law requires it, for example to a court or a government authority acting within its powers. Some of these providers store data outside India on their global infrastructure.
Our Google-connected reporting tool
Hauskart reports is an internal tool that connects only to our own store Google account, [email protected]. It asks Google for two permissions: to send email, which it uses to mail our daily sales report to ourselves, and to keep one working file in a private app folder in that account's Google Drive. It cannot read any email or open any other file.
The working file holds bill numbers, dates, items and amounts, and an internal customer number from our billing system. It holds no customer names, phone numbers or addresses. Data the tool receives from Google is not shared with anyone, not sold, not used for advertising and not used to train AI models. Hauskart reports' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep it
- Invoices, credit notes and the records behind them, including the name, phone number and GSTIN on them: 8 years, because GST law requires us to keep them.
- Delivery addresses and chats: for as long as we need them to serve you, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Your yes or no to WhatsApp offers: for as long as you shop with us, and afterwards as a record of what you chose.
- The pre-opening registration list: only until the opening offer has been sent, then deleted from Google.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:
- give you a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we have shared it with;
- correct, complete or update it;
- delete it. We delete everything we are not required to keep. Invoices must stay for 8 years, so on those we remove your name and phone number wherever the law allows;
- stop using it for offers and updates, which is as easy as the yes you gave;
- name someone to use these rights for you if you die or cannot act yourself.
Ask by email, on WhatsApp or at the counter. Before we act, we confirm the request by calling back the phone number on our records, so nobody else can see or delete your data. We reply within 48 hours, complete a deletion within 7 days and any other request within 30 days.
Grievances
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, write to our grievance officer, the store owner, at [email protected] or call +91 72087 08111. If we do not resolve it, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Keeping it safe
Customer records live in our billing system and on the store's own accounts, and only the people who need them to serve you can see them. Card details never reach us.
